Solar PV lighting system & component testing

The SPV Light testing lab, at NISE is equipped with different test facilities for the performance evaluation of the solar lighting products ranging from Solar lantern, Solar home lighting system, Solar street lighting system, Solar Task light, Solar study lamp, and Solar Torch etc.

All SPV lighting system usually comprises of the following components: PV Module, Storage battery, charge controller, LED Driver, and Luminaries etc.

The following Solar PV lighting system tests are available for each type of sample:

Solar Lantern

• Light output and input power measurement test
• Light output and compatibility testing of module battery and load for meeting the duty cycle and autonomy
• Full testing as per MNRE / other specs

Solar Street Lighting System

• Light output and input power measurement test
• Light output and compatibility testing of module battery and load for meeting the duty cycle and autonomy
• Full testing as per MNRE / other specs

Solar Home Lighting System

• Light output and input power measurement test
• Light output and compatibility testing of module battery and load for meeting the duty cycle and autonomy
• Full testing as per MNRE / other specs

Solar Power Pack : AC & DC Model

• Light output and input power measurement test
• Full testing as per MNRE / other specs

Charge Controller

• Performance evaluation for charge controller for lighting systems (12V / 24V)
• Other off-grid systems : solar torch, task light, road stud, garden light, solar rickshaw, and solar air-conditioner etc

• Addition testing for individual components of Solar PV lighting system
